CARE LABELS FOR PILLOWS

INTRODUCTION

Care Labels provide guidelines to consumers about pillow care, and the best cleaning procedures to be used for a particular pillow.

International Care Labels, European Union Care Labels or ISO 3758 Standard Care Labels represents exactly the same set of five icons with the following order:

 

1. WASHING
Care Symbols - Bleaching
2. BLEACHING
Care Symbols - Drying
3. DRYING
Care Symbols - Ironing
4. IRONING
Care Symbols - Dry Cleaning
5. PROFESSIONAL CARE

1. WASHING

WASHING CARE SYMBOL is the wash tub which indicates whether domestic washing is possible or not. Washing icon applies both to hand and machine washes. The numbers in the wash tub represents the maximum washing temperatures in degrees Celsius. One bar below the wash tub characterizes a milder cycle with reduced mechanical action. The double bar describes a very mild washing cycle.

2. BLEACHING

BLEACHING CARE SYMBOL is the triangle which indicates whether the article may or may not be bleached. If bleaching is allowed whether chlorine or oxygen based bleaching chemicals can be used.

3. DRYING

DRYING CARE SYMBOL is the square. The circle in the square represents tumble drying.

TUMBLE DRYING IS POSSIBLE
Care Symbols - Do not Tumble Dry
DO NOT TUMBLE DRY
Care Symbols - Tumble Dry at Low Temperature

Care Symbols - Tumble Dry Very Delicate
TUMBLE DRY VERY DELICATE

4. IRONING

IRONING CARE SYMBOL is the iron within dots to indicate the temperature to be used.

Care Symbols - Do not Iron
DO NOT IRON
Care Symbols - Low Temperature
IRON AT LOW TEMPERATURE
Care Symbols - Medium Temperature
IRON AT MEDIUM TEMPERATURE
Care Symbols - High Temperature
IRON AT HIGH TEMPERATURE

5. PROFESSIONAL CARE (DRY CLEANING)

DRY CLEANING (or PROFESSONAL CARE) CARE SYMBOL is the circle with or without letters within. Both dry or wet professional cleaning can be possible.
